Simplify Sunday
Well, I've organized 8 plastic bins of fabric. Yes, I had to purchase a couple more--but that's it for bin space. The Stash looks lovely! I still have more, which does not look lovely. Simplifying is exhausting.
After reading about stashes in blogland and in magazines, after wrestling my own stash (Me 1, Stash 3), after trying to envision the end result, I pose for you some definitions to consider:
- Stash = Creativity (lots of possibilities)
- Stash = Work (lots to do)
- Stash = Play (lots to liberate you from the drudgery of life)
- Stash = Space (lots to spill over into the rest of the household)
- Stash = Stewardship (lots of blessings to balance and care for)
Gratitudes
- The Stash (both blessing and curse)
- The dog (he always loves me)
- The mostly sunshine-y day (tulips are beginning to come up)

The stash is fun for me. But sometimes, it's a little overwhelming!
Kolleen,
I love your definitions of stash - fun! :)
I agree with jlk...sometimes overwhelming! But mostly fun:)
Lovely post. Thought provoking. Stash- endless possabilities. Maybe why it can be overwhelming.
Love stashes...a little stressful because it reminds me of the projects I am not finishing, but mostly a world of possibilities!
Simplifying is exhausting for sure. But for me, having a fabric stash is way more blessing than curse. (Stashes of other stuff like all my random mixed media tidbits, not so much!)
That collection of fabrics in your photo above would make a beautiful quilt! So fresh looking.
Yes, I would be sad without a stash, but it should be limited. Much of that fabric has moved more than once (i.e. it is decades old!). Time to quilt a bit more in the moment! I haven't even talked about my bead/ephemera stash :) Thanks everyone for your comments!
